Proms / Jubilee a 'Royal' sucess

The recent 'Last Night of the Proms / 2012 Jubilee' concert held by the band at the Olive bowl, was hailed a 'Royal' success, with over £800 pounds being made for band funds.  The warm early afternoon summer concert proved to be a spectacular success where the band performed an array of traditional English pieces, including a poignant rendition of Robbie William's 'Angels' along side such proms staple as the Pomp and Circumstance March No1, and the Radetsky March, to a packed venue, which ran out of chairs.
Unusually, and somewhat unfortunately for some, there was a lack of seating, due to the high turnout, with around 150 people coming to support the band.  Jackie Adams and the Training band were also on hand to provide their slant on the Proms concert half way through, to a very warm reception, and great aplause.

The band would like to thank everyone that came and supported the band on the day, and special thanks go to The Olive Bowl, and their staff, who generously donated their venue and time for setting up.

Here is what Val & John Overington thought of the concert;

Excellent concert, as usual we are really impressed how hard the band work all year, and the large intake of learners. Incidentally "Well Done"  to all the learners. Great sense of humour from the band too!!

Once again, Thank-you to you all for your support, and we look forward to seeing you at the next concert.
