Band 'Open Day' announced

The band are pleased to announce that we will be holding an open day in September this year, where you can come along and see what goes on behind the scenes, what we offer to the community, and even have a blow or a bash!  If you have always wanted to have a go on the Drums, blow a Trombone, or see if you can get anything to come out of an enormous B flat Bass, then this will be your opportunity.  We are hoping to have all of our tutors and mentors to hand, as well as coffee and cake, for those that would just like to see what we do when we are not performing on stage, or marching down the High St.

We will announce more details about the event over the coming weeks.

Great Motcombe Fete!

We were pleased to be invited by the Motcombe Fete committee to play at their fete on Saturday 30th June and even more pleased to be billed as one of the main attractions at the fete on the many posters and advertising boards.

The Band were pleased to play at the Motcombe fete, which was very well supported and very traditional with lots of entertainment, including a Jazz Band, stalls, a vintage car display, cream teas and (much to the approval of many of the band members!!) a beer tent.

The band had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, the weather was kind, although we were supplied with a very smart marquee in case the weather was bad. We were well received by the visitors to the Fete who were able to sit on the straw bales positioned round the marquee and enjoy their icecreams and drinks whilst listening to the band.

The feedback we have received has been very great and we hope that we will be invited back to the fete again in the future.

Nick Crump to perform at 'Open Day'

The band are please to announce that 'The Musical World of Nick Crump' will be in attendance at the open day. Nick will bring a variety of his unusual instruments, including his infamous 'Boghorn' (that's a musical instrument made out of a toilet bowl to you and me!) find out more about Nick at his website, or come along to the day and enjoy a performance with a difference!
